Welcome to Illuminata, the on-line peer reviewed medical journal of the Pain Relief Network. Free from the mind-numbing influence of government dogma and the addictionology bias of most journals, Illuminata will publish papers that examine pressing medical issues concerning chronic pain and its treatment.
The vast majority of Federal grants for scientific research are only available to clinicians who adhere to the government’s views. Because we will only publish when we are honored to present a paper of true merit, and will accept no paper funded by a pharmaceutical company or the Federal addiction machinery, we hope to set a new standard of excellence and scientific validity in an otherwise compromised arena.
Esteemed journals, such as the New England Journal of Medicine, have published deeply flawed articles that were ultimately used as evidence by Federal prosecutors against pain treating physicians. We hope to avoid such pitfalls by holding ourselves to a higher scientific standard. At Illuminata, we adhere only to the facts.
